Nest Power Project

Brief: Nest believes everyone deserves access to energy efficiency. The Power Project aims to raise awareness of the energy burden, provide help to people struggling with high energy costs, and create a platform for people to help one another.
Challenges: The online platform was created through hundreds of hours of intensive data gathering over a three-month period to gain a full scope of the problem at hand. Finding the needed data for all zip codes was very challenging.
Solution: On this site, people can search their ZIP code to find or fund local aid programs that fight poverty caused by pressing energy bills. By featuring energy poverty through personal stories and hard numbers, it puts the issue on the map with the aim of erasing it.
Impact: Within the first few days, the Power Project raised over $8,000 in donations. Consumer awareness was key to bringing this under-reported issue to light, the 250,000 visitors who visited the site helped achieve that. The project went on to earn over 400 media mentions and was shared over 3,500 times on social channels, resulting in an estimated 150 million impressions.
Role: I was involved from the beginning in helping the Creative Director to come up with creative solutions, sketching and putting ideas together. I was in charge of the overall Design Direction and execution, working closely with the User Experience Designers, Animators and Developers.
